Some people believe that nowadays we have too many choices. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Technology advancements in the past few decades have convinced some people that we have too many choices these days. While I believe this statement can be true when it comes to shopping, in transportation and politics we have very limited options.

The number of online shops is so many that buyers are usually confused which one to shop from. Thanks to the development of internet and online services, every store world-wide can have an online shop too. The search engines, such as Google, show all these shops and many others to their users when they search for one item. This myriad of choices is confusing as every shop provides a different quality and price of the same product. As a result, the shoppers will be baffled and might even stop searching.

On the other hand, the field of transportation provides limited options when it comes to travelling between countries in the world. Efficient travelling between far away countries is yet to happen as the only option in many places is airplane and people have to wait hours for checking and boarding the plane. There are no direct flights between many two cities around the world which means a waste of time for passengers.

Moreover, political systems around the world look very similar, leaving people with few options under which flag they want to live in. In most countries, presidents are chosen by the direct vote of people and there is a senate of some kind which helps the government with the legislation. This system, although looking democratic on the outside, is often so corrupt that people cannot have the freedom they deserve. These systems take away a big portion of citizen’s income, while the rich can avoid taxes to a great extent, and often pass laws that only limit people’s freedom without improving their life standards. Such pollical systems can be found in every corner of the world and it is really hard to have many different options in this field.

In conclusion, online shopping provides users with too many choices which leads to customer’s confusion in many cases. That said, I believe we do not have too many choices in transportation and politics. The airline services are sluggish and the common political systems similarly manipulative around the world leaving people with not enough options to have a more comfortable life.
