The line graph gives a breakdown of the monthly changes in prices of three metals throughout 2014. Overall, all the three metals started the year with a fall until around June, stayed constant in the next four months and started rising in the last few months of the year.

The sharpest fall was observed in nickel, from a high of 6% to -3% until June. The price started to increase by 2% in July and levelled out throughout the summer. After a small dip in October the price change went up to 1% by the end of the year.

Although copper experienced a similar trend, the changes were far less sharper, with the prices ranging between 2% and almost -1%.

However, the initial trend for zinc was opposite, with the price rising to 3% from 1% in the first month of the year. the price started to fall during the next four months and reached -1%. Similar to nickel, zinc price levelled off during the summer and rose back to 2% by the end of the year.
